Message from the Artist: I hesitated to add colors beyond white and umber because I was so happy with the earthiness of this duo. I wanted to play with textures – thus the expressive layers of the mother's hair. I put the finishing touches on this painting during a two-hour phone conversation with my dear 85-year old grandmother. Her strength, personality and ability to do anything she dreams seemed to flow through me and into my painting during our lively conversation. Also, the wonder and affection that I felt (always feel) while talking to her helped to ignite the whimsy of this painting's background.

Each print is signed by the artist in the lower right corner, and enclosed in a protective clear bag. 8x10 and 12x12 prints have an acid free backing board and are shipped in a stiff mailer. 13x19 prints are gently rolled and shipped in a triangular shipping tube.
